The Walls

A month down the line since the last update and we can really see the new kitchen and outbuildings taking shape ;

M Aubry has completed all the partition and plaster boarding. The  painter has done a first coat on the interior of the doors. M Lafon and his team have dealt with the majority of the wiring and plumbing as well as the important task of moving the boiler into it's final position in the laundry room. Next week they will install the underfloor heating system.

Out of doors, Team Bermudez are cracking on with the garage walls. These photos were taken between Monday and today, Thursday!

Good weather has of course helped the task and all being well, they should have completed the building in time for the roofers to return on the 26th May. A visit to M Rapeaud's workshop reveals that the 7 m long oak beams have been delivered and are being primed for fitting.

Nature notes see the field in full bloom with masses of orchids, marguerites and such like. Poppies & peonies are in profusion in the borders and the swifts are flying around, but so far unsure of what to make of their new roof. We hope that they'll be settling in very soon.

Twenty plus degrees is forecast for the new few days, so with the help of our MN we have opened the pool today.
